2022 sMAP Symposium

On Thursday, July 28, 2022, sMAP students and staff attended the annual sMAP Public Symposium. The event began with a keynote speech by Dr. Jamal Deen on “Wearable Sensors for Ubiquitous-Healthcare and Active Aging.” This was followed by research talks from Dr. Cynthia Lokker, Dr. Cheryl Quenneville, and Dr. Qiyin Fang. The Health Innovation & Entrepreneurship Experiential Panel took place after lunch; panelists included Lianna Genovese (CEO and founder of ImaginAble Solutions), Karen Scraba (Innovation Coach at The Clinic), Dr. Nafia Al-Mutawaly (Founder of Ressam Gardens), and Dr. Alan Neville (Professor Emeritus of Oncology). After the panel, research talks were given by sMAP students Gloria D’Amaral, Alireza Fathollah Pour, and Yujiao Hao. The symposium closed with a poster presentation where sMAP student trainees were able to present their ongoing work.
