Pasindu Lugoda is a senior lecturer with the Department of Engineering at Nottingham Trent University. He is also an Honorary Research Fellow with the University of Sussex His research interests are in developing electronic textiles, soft robotics and flexible electronics for medical and entertainment applications. Previously, he worked as a Research Fellow with the Sensor Technology Research Centre at the University of Sussex, developing shape-sensing textiles for orthotic applications. He did his Ph. D. in the Advanced Textiles Research Group at Nottingham Trent University, where he worked on temperature sensing textile yarns. During his PhD, he did two back-back research internships at Microsoft where he was fabricating interactive textiles. Before his PhD he worked as a Textile Development Engineer for MAS Holdings, where he was developing Nike concepts into production viable garments. He received his bachelor’s degree in electronic and communication engineering from the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus.
